Types and prices of dentures

Total denture for the upper edentulous jaw

Total denture for the upper edentulous jaw with very high-quality Phonares teethIf there is a complete or partial loss of teeth, and for anatomical or other reasons a fixed restoration cannot be made, teeth can be replaced with complete or partial dentures. Denture prices vary depending on the type of denture and the material from which the denture is made.

Types of dentures:

– complete denture
– partial denture
– denture anchored on two or more implants

Classification of dentures from the lowest to the highest price:

  1. regular acrylic complete denture for an edentulous jaw
  2. acrylic complete denture with high-quality composite teeth for an edentulous jaw
  3. Thermosens, transparent and extremely strong denture for an edentulous jaw or partial tooth loss
  4. partial wironit denture with clasps for partial tooth loss
  5. partial wironit denture with snap system, i.e. anchors in combination with a bridge for partial tooth loss, so that clasps are not visible, only the white row of teeth
  6. complete denture firmly held by 2 implants with a bar or locator system
  7. complete denture firmly held by 4 implants with a bar system

COMPLETE DENTURES

Complete dentures are made in cases of complete tooth loss of the upper or lower jaw. They are most often made from acrylic material, which compensates for the loss of bone volume and is also used to make the denture teeth. In addition to acrylic teeth, teeth in complete dentures can also be made from high-quality composite material. The aesthetics and durability of such teeth are greater than acrylic teeth, but such dentures are also somewhat more expensive. The denture can also be reinforced with a metal mesh inside the acrylic denture structure, the price of which is also slightly higher than regular complete dentures without metal reinforcement. In addition to classic dentures with their modifications, they can also be made from the latest high-quality acrylic material with a different chemical structure that provides great strength, durability, resistance to breakage, while still allowing adaptation and achieving demanding aesthetics, so-called Thermosens dentures. Such dentures can also be transparent, avoiding an unfavorable aesthetic appearance.

The advantages of Thermosens dentures are:

– low risk of allergic reactions
– no change in volume, dimensionally stable and stronger than regular dentures
– available in as many as 15 color shades, thinner and therefore more comfortable for the patient
– biocompatible
– easy to adjust and polish.

A complete denture sits precisely by following the contours of the soft tissues of the jaw and is therefore stable in the mouth. The advantages of complete dentures compared to fixed restorations, regardless of the type, are that they can be easily removed from the mouth, oral hygiene can be maintained well, and they can be repaired and relined outside the oral cavity in case of fracture or tooth loss.

PARTIAL DENTURES

In cases of loss of several teeth, in addition to fixed restorations, the deficiency can also be compensated by making partial dentures. Partial dentures can be acrylic with wire clasps, they can be wironit dentures with metal clasps or other retention elements such as attachments that hold the denture on a fixed bridge using a snap system, Thermosens dentures with all the advantages mentioned above. If possible, the production of a so-called combined restoration is always preferred. This means that the remaining teeth are connected into a bridge that contains retention elements at its ends for the denture, which fit into grooves in the denture itself.

The advantages of such a combined fixed-removable restoration are:

– better aesthetics, metal clasps are not visible
– stronger fit
– remaining teeth are protected by a fixed bridge, while the denture can be easily removed from the mouth
– possibility of denture repair and good maintenance of oral hygiene.

Regarding the prices of partial dentures, the simplest to make and the most affordable is a denture retained by clasps, while the price of a Thermosens denture is somewhat higher due to its greater quality. In combined restorations, the price is also higher due to the production of a fixed bridge and special attachment connections between the denture and bridge.

IMPLANT-SUPPORTED DENTURES

A dental denture on implants is a prosthetic solution for an edentulous jaw, where a skeletal dental denture is firmly held on previously placed implants using locators, ball attachments or bars. It is necessary to place 2-4 implants. In the lower jaw, two implants are most often placed, while in the upper jaw 4 implants are used. The difference between an implant-supported denture with locators and a classic complete denture is that the locator denture is a semi-fixed construction, which means it is more stable in the mouth and significantly more comfortable for the patient.

Further advantages of such a restoration are:

– easier and faster adaptation to the dental denture
– greater stability, it is firmly held against the jaw
– easy maintenance of oral hygiene
– very attractive appearance and enables safe movements and speech
– possibility of denture repair and adaptation because it is easy to remove and place in the mouth.

The price of an implant-supported denture is significantly higher than other dentures because it requires implant placement, but the final result is long-term durability, firm attachment to the jaw and better stability.

DENTURES CAN ALSO BE BEAUTIFUL TEETH

People often use the term denture to refer to dental bridges on natural teeth and bridges on dental implants, but the term denture actually means a removable replacement of all teeth or part of the teeth. Of course, today at Dental Estetic Studio, we can beautifully create fixed restorations, i.e. bridges / crowns / veneers in zirconia or full porcelain Emax.

But the fact that complete dentures can also create a beautiful smile and often bring patients great satisfaction with their new appearance has also become our everyday experience.

People who unfortunately cannot receive implants due to excessive bone loss, or who do not want to undergo a surgical procedure due to health reasons or fear, must decide on a complete denture.

Such dentures can today be beautifully made because:

  1. we have beautiful materials that replace natural gingiva
  2. we use the highest-quality ready-made teeth for dentures, with exceptional natural appearance, which we import from the global market and which can be made in all shapes, sizes, and colors we desire.
They have such natural transparency at the edges, just like natural teeth.
  3. our dental laboratory creates the gum configuration so naturally that no one you are speaking with can notice that these are not natural teeth with natural gingiva
  4. they allow us to excellently compensate for bone loss and correct a “sunken” face or make them very thin according to the patient’s wishes

Therefore, if you need a complete denture, do not despair because at Dental Estetic Studio we can create it very naturally, in the color, i.e. brightness, that you desire and in a shape that perfectly suits your facial features.
