AMALGAM FILLING REPLACEMENT – FILLING

Amalgam filling contains mercury and other heavy metals that are generally known to be harmful to health. Mercury and other heavy metals are released from the filling in the form of mercury compounds and vapors during chewing, brushing teeth, but especially during the removal of the actual filling, therefore great caution is required when removing it because mercury vapors are extremely toxic and harmful to health.

DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF HEAVY METALS, the toxicity of amalgam so-called “silver” fillings is often associated with:

AMALGAM FILLING REMOVAL PROTOCOL

In our dental clinic in the center of Zagreb “Dental Estetic Studio”, great attention is dedicated to the removal of amalgam fillings, so that the patient minimally inhales mercury vapors and swallows amalgam filling particles, reducing the amount of harmful mercury compounds entering the body.

During removal, the following protocol is followed:

1. a special rubber dam is obligatorily placed in the patient’s mouth to separate the surrounding tissues from the amalgam filling. THIS IS HOW THE POSSIBILITY OF PARTICLES REMAINING IN THE ORAL CAVITY AND ENTERING THE ORGANISM IS ISOLATED
2. the assistant uses a suction device and aspirator to constantly remove amalgam dust released from the filling during its removal
3. throughout the entire amalgam filling removal procedure, the patient frequently and thoroughly rinses the oral cavity with water.

In all of these ways, contact between amalgam filling particles and the tissues of the oral cavity is avoided, accidental swallowing of these particles and inhalation of mercury vapors are prevented, and through these procedures the health risk is reduced to a minimum.

THERE IS NO NEED TO CREATE PANIC AROUND AMALGAM FILLINGS, BUT THEY SHOULD BE ADEQUATELY REPLACED WITH HEALTHIER, BETTER AND AESTHETICALLY ACCEPTABLE RESTORATIONS, I.E. FILLINGS.
