VENEERS today are made from two types of materials, which means they are divided into two categories:

1. Porcelain veneers
2. Composite veneers

PORCELAIN VENEERS

Porcelain veneers are a long-term solution for teeth and, due to their color stability and strength, they are used much more frequently in our practice today than composite veneers. Porcelain veneers are made after minimal preparation of only the front surface of the tooth and are bonded to the tooth using special dental cements. They are produced in a dental laboratory using press technology or computerized CAD/CAM technology.

Porcelain veneers provide a long-lasting solution because they do not change color or wear down, unlike composite veneers.

They are placed when changes are needed on the front teeth regarding:

• tooth shape
• tooth color
• tooth position
• minor orthodontic irregularities

The condition is that the teeth are not severely damaged by decay and do not have large fillings.

The result of placing porcelain dental veneers is an extremely significant aesthetic transformation of the patient’s smile, with minimal preparation of the natural tooth and long-lasting durability.

They are often combined with prior teeth whitening to achieve a brighter and fresher overall smile appearance, as the surrounding teeth are also lightened. Likewise, during smile makeovers, they can be combined, when needed, with ceramic bridges or crowns, resulting in a harmonious, aesthetically natural, and beautiful smile.

The production of dental veneers takes 5–10 days, during which patients wear temporary veneers that are made immediately after preparation and are included in our price.

Dr. med. dent. Knego personally performs all prosthetic treatments, including dental veneers. She has been working with dental veneers for more than seventeen years, which is extremely important because veneers require highly precise preparation and bonding techniques, as well as combining different types of dental cements to achieve teeth with exceptional natural appearance, aesthetics, and durability.

Today we provide:

1. Porcelain veneers with preparation, i.e. minimal tooth preparation when we do not want to increase tooth volume or length.
2. Porcelain veneers without preparation – NON PREP VENEERS when we want to increase tooth volume and length.

COMPOSITE VENEERS

Composite veneers are created directly in the mouth using the ONE DAY SMILE technique with high-quality composite materials.

Depending on the individual case, they can be performed with little or no tooth preparation. However, they are not as durable as porcelain veneers, which do not change color, do not wear down, and are significantly more resistant to chipping.

Nevertheless, composite veneers can also significantly improve the appearance of a smile and are a much more affordable option.
