DENTURES

Dentures are divided into:
– COMPLETE DENTURES
– PARTIAL DENTURES

COMPLETE DENTURES are made when a patient has no teeth at all in one of the jaws and does not want or cannot receive dental implants. For aesthetic reasons and maximum quality, we create complete dentures using beautiful and high-quality PHONARES composite teeth, which are harder, more resistant to wear, and provide a natural appearance and shape.

For many years, we have also been creating Thermosense and Vertex dentures from materials that are not easily breakable. These materials are more commonly used for partial dentures or temporary dentures that replace several missing teeth. Complete Thermosense dentures are less common because they are slightly thicker and cannot be easily relined, which can sometimes be necessary for complete dentures if the jaw ridge resorbs over the years.

Upper complete dentures are usually easier to wear due to the suction effect, while lower dentures are more difficult because they tend to move and lack stability. For this reason, in the lower jaw, the placement of 2 or 4 implants and a prosthetic restoration supported by them is often recommended.

When 2 implants are placed, the prosthetic solution is still a removable denture retained by locators or a bar attachment. With 4 implants, the patient can receive a fixed bridge and eliminate the need to wear a removable denture.

PARTIAL DENTURES are used when a patient still has some natural teeth remaining, and they replace the missing teeth. They are made from gum-colored materials such as Thermosense / Vertex or from Wironit (metal), which is practically invisible when smiling.

Today, we most often create partial dentures by restoring the remaining teeth with zirconia ceramic or metal-ceramic bridges that contain special attachments onto which the denture fits. These attachments are practically invisible.

Modern dentures can achieve excellent aesthetics and a very natural appearance. Often, according to the patient’s wishes, we create them in a fresher, brighter shade of teeth. Everything depends on the patient’s preferences.
