A complete denture, which is completely removable and less stable in the mouth than fixed restorations, especially when it comes to the lower jaw, is not the only solution for patients who have no natural teeth at all. A complete denture can be replaced with screw-retained fixed bridges, the so-called All on 4 / All on 6 systems, which, unlike complete dentures, are fixed constructions and therefore dramatically more stable in the patient’s mouth, making them much easier for the patient to adapt to. Therefore, for many reasons, the All on 4 bridge significantly changes the quality of life for patients who have worn dentures or would otherwise need to receive dentures.

All on 4/ All on six fixed screw-retained bridge on 4 or 6 implants

With the All on 4 system, it is necessary to first place 4 implants, while with the All on 6 system, 6 implants are placed. After that, impressions are taken on the same day and the patient receives a temporary screw-retained bridge within 24 hours, which is one of the main advantages of these systems. After approximately 4 months (the time required for the tissues around the implants to heal – osseointegration), the temporary screw-retained bridge is replaced with a permanent bridge made of the highest quality composite material. The bridge replaces lost bone, gum tissue and teeth, achieving excellent aesthetics. A very important feature of these systems is that the procedure can also be performed on patients who do not have sufficient bone height because implants are placed only in the anterior part of the jaw where the mandibular nerve does not pass, or in the upper jaw angled implants bypass the maxillary sinus. It is also important to emphasize that the bridge can be serviced if necessary.
